To Cool For School

Took Rocco to the elementary school in Willow Glen after picking him up from Jill's on Friday. We ran around and played for an hour and then went to meet Mariana for an early dinner. It was nice to check out a new play area. We have been hitting up the Campbell park on a regular basis and I think it is time to start exploring new areas.

There was an area at this school that had an after school daycare going on. It had around 15 kids outside playing. I told Rocco we couldn't go into that area because it was older kids. He looked and me said, "we can try." I said I don't think we are allowed in there. Again, he looked at me with his hands out, "we can try." We tried, we got in for a quick play and went on our way. It was an interesting look into after school daycare. I caught myself thinking, I don't want Rocco to grow up. I just want to keep him small and protect his world.

My Favorite Time Of Day

My favorite time of day is the morning. Wether it is drinking a warm cup of coffee walking around the yard on a cold morning, getting out before the sun warms up the day just a little too hot or sitting on the kitchen floor with Rocco drinking out of our mugs - I LOVE THE MORNING. Night time is for sleeping.

Picture I took in the yard after a rainy night and during a beautiful morning.

Vacuum Sword

One of Rocco's favorite things to play with is the vacuum sword.

The Heart At The Beach

We went to the beach last weekend with Mimi and Pop. The weather was wonderful and although me and Rocco didn't get the chance to push Daddy in the water, the day was great. We shared a pizza, walked along the edge of the world and enjoyed the beautiful world we live in.

A Year Ago Today

I was just looking at the date and thought I would go back into the files and see what I had exactly a year ago today. These were taken on our way to swimming lessons a year ago. Funny enough, we have been talking about enrolling him again this spring. Chewing on his toes in the car was not something he normally did. It was just one of those things the camera caught at the right moment. I am looking forward to getting him in the water this spring so when summer comes we can jump right into the water.

Two Ice Creams!

What happens when you are such a good eater at dinner? The dinner ends with a special treat. Rocco's dinner usually ends with fruit. But on Friday night after eating his chicken, cheese and green bean quesadilla he not only got kiwi but chocolate ice cream and got to watch a movie while enjoying this treat. I severed it in his new buzz light year plate he got from his birthday from Dave, Chai and Taven. The kiwi was in the middle and two little scoops of chocolate ice cream was on each side of the plate. He thought this was so cool that he had two ice creams. He kept saying "two ice creams." As the saying goes, it is the little things that make you smile.

Saturday morning Rocco plays hid-and-seek with Daddy. The smile and laughter that Rocco emits while playing with Jared makes me smile inside, deep inside. Sometime Rocco likes to show himself before Jared comes and actually finds him. I think he thinks he might not get tickled as much if he shows himself. So he will say to Jared as he enters the room, "here me." We are working on saying, "here I am."

To Swing Again

My Grandma loved to sit on her swing in her backyard in North Hollywood. I loved to sit with my Grandma on her swing in her lovely garden backyard. What I would give to have just one more swing, just one more.

This picture was taken in 1998. She would always keep her back window open so her cats could come in and out as they please. The baby is my nephew Brightin Shelley who is 13 years old now.
