Neighborhood Goods

A young boy, around 10 years old, from the neighborhood was walking with his red wagon and had a couple of buckets of colored chalk in it. He was going to different houses to see if any of the younger kids wanted his chalk he was giving away. He saw me and Rocco playing outside and asked if Rocco wanted some chalk. We see this boy when we play in the court with other neighborhood kids. He always tries to give Rocco high five, but Rocco plays shy. So we took a bucket of chalk, which ended up being 2 buckets since he just wanted to get rid of it.

Then his mom came down to see if Rocco wanted this cool John Deere tractor bike. So we went down to their house for a look and ended up with a new yard bike as well. Got to love nice neighbors! Thankful.

Just Another Morning with My Sunshine

The New Hang Out

Rocco is all about the vacuum right now. He loves to point it out, talk about it, play with it and now hang out with it in the closet. He is just recently tall enough to open the door on his own. So what does he do now that he gets the door open, sits down and hangs out with the vacuum.

Happy Feet

Check out Rocco's new slippers from Mimi. They match his pj's perfect. I titled this happy feet to showcase the new slippers but to also share the story of Rocco's first chocolate milk on Sunday at the farmer's market. We went down there with Mariana and she asked if Rocco could have a chocolate milk. I said, sure why not. As the little carton of milk was placed on the chair for perfect drinking height, Rocco's feet danced and stomped and his smile was ear to ear. It was so cute to watch him enjoy something so simple.

First Wetsuit

When your dad works for O'Neill, your closet and beach wear is set. Rocco got his first wetsuit to keep warm in the water and safe from the sun. Bring on the beach.

Bread and Ice Cream

After getting Rocco's hair cut last weekend, we went to feed the geese at the park and then cooled down at the local Baskin Robins. Did I mention this one has a drive through. Not that I have been through it though. It was Rocco's first official B&R adventure. Rocco had vanilla yogurt, Dad had a scoop of rocky road and I had a peanut butter and chocolate milkshake. Life is good.

First Hair Cut

Rocco had his first official hair cut on Sunday. I have been cutting the bangs for a few months, but we let the back and sides grow long. He cried at first and then went into serious mode. You couldn't even get a smile out of him. Overall he did really good. It is crazy how much a hair cut can make you look different. Now we can see Rocco's ears, neck and forehead. I already miss his long hair but I know it will feel great short for the hot summer.

Rising With The Sun

Rocco was up at 5:00 am this morning and is down for his first nap at 9:00. We played with toys and listened to music and by 6:30 we were dressed and enjoying the yard while the sun came up. My favorite thing to do is wake up and go right outside with a cup of coffee. So we watered the lawn, if you can call it a lawn, played ball with Max, picked up rocks and a couple snails too! Rocco doesn't understand that you can't squeeze snails. So after a few causalities I was on snail patrol. We then had breakfast at 7:30 and he is now down for the count. I love mornings at home with the family.

Mimi Music

Mimi surprised Rocco on Monday and picked him up early from Jill's and had some special one-on-one time. Mimi is learning to play the ukulele and brought it over to play with Rocco.

Summer Time PJs

Bought Rocco some new pj's for summer. Last night he wore the spiderman ones and I think he looks adorable in them. Of course I had to take a picture of him this morning in them and his totally cool bed head hair. He is really into the animals right now. Feeding the cats and dog, watching Daktari up close and hanging in the kitchen with mom is what we were doing at 6:00 in the morning. My boy is really growing up, just look at this little boy. Baby no more.

16 Months Old

Rocco is 16 months old today and is growing in every way. Here is a picture and video from today.

New words - no, uh-oh, hose, drop, and was pretty close to saying Grandpa today.
Likes to sing and dance.
Has hearing like a hawk. Looks in the sky when he hears an airplane.
Loves to run to the phone when it rings.
Loves the vacuum and wants you to hold him while you vacuum.
Gives Daktari hugs and likes to talk to him while he eats his cat food.
Throws balls to Max.
Says ruff when he hears a dog or if you ask what does a dog say.
Blows his nose and loves to throw the tissue in the garbage.
Gives tickles.
Likes to get on your back and play horse.
Got put in time out for his first time. Although he smiled and wanted to stay there after he was able to get up.
