Crafts With My Crafty Mom

My mom came to see us and check out the new house. It was a perfect time to also get my mom’s help on a craft that I have been wanting to do. If she didn’t come, the table might still just be a simple table.

I found this idea on a blog and said, I can do that! (with my mom’s help) It is always better to do crafts with others than by yourself. The steps were rather easy and the table came out so fancy. I really like the stencil the girl shows in her blog but it was 50.00 just for the stencil. But it was a bigger design that worked well on a table. I used a 3 dollar one from home depot that we just patterned across the table. The three steps were sand, stencil and stain.

Thanks mom for the help. I love how crafty and supportive you are.

Lets Make Something New

A new word for Rocco is craft. He likes to cut paper and just recently discovered the glue in the drawer. He runs to get them and asks if we can make a craft. Then I am task with coming up with something to make. I need to restock my craft cupboard and research some fun things to make. The other day we decided to make a craft for Daddy to hang in his office. Simple, Natural and Fun.

I'm Crafty

I finally did it, I finally refinished my first dresser. I found the white beauty below on the neighborhood corner for free a few months ago. Free means if it doesn't turn out, it's ok because I didn't spend that much money on it. Well... not to shabby if I say so myself.

I also finally did a terrarium! Not just one, but two. I got the bird house one from my friend Katie for my birthday. (only took me 10 months) I have been talking and wanting to do a terrarium for years. They came together really easy and I can't wait to make more. There is a special touch in the bird house one. A yellow bird from my Grandma Shelley. She collected these figurines and each grandchild got a few of them when she passed.

I know the style I like, I just don't have a great design eye. I need to give more time to mastering this skill. I know it is in there somewhere, I think. Or my mother-in-law and Mariana can come over and tell me where to put things, that works too.
