Singing In the Shower

Captured this precious moment of the boys in the shower. Lately Rocco is taking more showers than baths. Just another phase in my boy growing up. He is even washing his own body and hair.

I'll Cut Those Bangs, Dad

Love these pictures of Dad cutting Rocco's bangs. A job well done Dad.

Halloween Take 3

Jared loves to carve his traditional pumpkin. Triangle eyes and nose and jagged smile. Every year it is always the same. I really liked my pumpkin because of the long twisty steam. Rocco little pumpkin ended up being really hard to carve. So we had to go to extreme measures to carve his. Dad get out the drill. Rocco might just go for small pumpkins every year if he gets to drill them.

We trick or treated around the neighborhood and enjoyed seeing everyones decorations. Rocco also got to pass out some candy to the kids that were still trying to fill up their pillow cases. He really that this part was cool. He was saying trick or treat to the kids out in the street before they even made it up to our door. I kept telling him they will say it to him. He was just too excited.

Halloween Take 2

Another fun thing we did this year was something I have been wanting to take Rocco to for quite some time, Monterey Bay Aquarium. Heidi invited us the morning of the Halloween event just for members. I was so excited to finally take Rocco here.

Rocco had his BumbleBee Transformer costume but when he heard that Heidi had his old Thomas costume in the car, he jumped at the chance to be Thomas again. I saved money instead of buying a costume to wear for 2 hours and went with the old skater girl Sheryl. Jared really liked my costume.

We had a blast at this event and I can't wait to go again. We didn't get to see everything there since the event started around 7 at night and we didn't want to keep the little ones up too late. I loved watching Rocco face checking out all the animals.

Halloween Take 1

I just realized that I did not post any Halloween pictures. We did a lot of fun things this year. We started off with getting pumpkins with Grandpa. We drove up highway 1 and had a beautiful view of the ocean while picking out our pumpkins. The weather was nice and warm. Rocco enjoyed playing on  the maze and tires they had there. We all picked out pumpkins. I was surprised that Rocco picked one of the smallest pumpkins. I kind of thought that since this is his first year really picking out his own pumpkin that he would big a gigantic one. Nope, he picked a cute small one just like him.

After selecting our pumpkins we drove up to Davenport for lunch. We found the train tracks and followed them up the coast. It was a great day with Grandpa.

Look - 2 Wheels

Yep, it is true. Rocco learned to ride his bike with no training wheels on Sunday. Lately he hasn't been interested in taking off the training wheels. I kept telling him unless he practices, it will never happen. He said ok and I jumped on it.

He kept telling me to not let go. I told him I won't and I will hold on the whole time. Sure enough, after a couple of tires I let my hands off for a few seconds. At that point he realized he can do it, he was doing it. A neighborhood boy, who is 8 years old, was really good at encouraging him with me. After he learned he wanted to ride his bike to Thomas's house. He was already all over the neighborhood.

Next thing you know, once he gets started he is telling me to let go. I think the push bike really helped with his balance. We are still working on the push off and the breaks. I keep telling him his feet are not his breaks. Also now that he is going faster, he needs to stop and look for cars.

I must say, my video looks good even though I was running to capture it all. Looks nothing like dad's video skills even when he is standing still.

The Beach After School

Just an early evening at the beach after school. Exploring and spending quality time together. This is why I work early and get off early.

Tree Hugger

We read the book the Giving Tree the other night. At the end of the book, Rocco said, "that is sad." He thought it was sad that he took everything from the tree. The next day we walked the train tracks to Dad's work. On the way back he took time to give these beautiful trees a hug. He wanted to go to each one. I just love the kind, sweet, caring smile on his face.

Crafts With My Crafty Mom

My mom came to see us and check out the new house. It was a perfect time to also get my mom’s help on a craft that I have been wanting to do. If she didn’t come, the table might still just be a simple table.

I found this idea on a blog and said, I can do that! (with my mom’s help) It is always better to do crafts with others than by yourself. The steps were rather easy and the table came out so fancy. I really like the stencil the girl shows in her blog but it was 50.00 just for the stencil. But it was a bigger design that worked well on a table. I used a 3 dollar one from home depot that we just patterned across the table. The three steps were sand, stencil and stain.

Thanks mom for the help. I love how crafty and supportive you are.
